Awesome Tour
We spent a fantastic afternoon with Peter and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would highly recommend a tour with Peter as he is knowledgeable, obliging and friendly.

Amazing tour. My husband and I had an all day tour with Peter Boers.
Amazing tour. My husband and I had an all day tour with Peter Boers. Truly a highlight of our visit to The Netherlands. We spent the morning touring the Worlds Largest Flower Auction. It was so impormative and Peter is so knowledgeable about the flower business. Then he took us to a tulip farm and then to a "local" lunch place and then to tour a working windmill and the quaint village across the river. It was pricey however I will never be going back and it was so hassle free!

A Wonderful Day with Peter
We had a wonderful day with Peter seeing fields and fields of tulips, going to a Tulip Farm, enjoying lunch with him and last but not least the Keukenhof.. Peter is so knowledgeable and amiable that the day seemed to fly by. We will recommend his tour to everyone we know that goes to Holland.

Guided tour with Peter Boers
One of the best tours ever. Peter is an awesome guide with a degree in horticulture and years of experience in touring the region. He took us to fields all over the country and to CoasTulip, a local producer, for a guided tour of their facility. Peter then accompanied us through the Keukenhof Botanical Gardens. Never saw so much color in all my life!!!

Peter Boers is the man behind Flower Tours Holland. He is extremely knowledgeable as he has been involved in many aspects of the Dutch flower business, His knowledge of Amsterdam's flagship gardens is at the cutting edge. Peter is charming and kind and an absolutely delightful company for what was a very full day. Peter made the tour of Keukenhof Gardens the highlight of our incredible trip to Amsterdam.

We were in Amsterdam for 3 days and wanted to get the most of our trip. The day was beautifully organized to suit our group of 7, ages 8-65! The flower auction house was the highlight. Of course you could do it alone, but you wouldn't have a guide to give you all the back of house information that makes your tour so much more exciting.

We traveled as an extended family of 19 (ages 13 to 75) for a river cruise down the Rhine. Our family likes to experience as much as possible while we travel, so we booked a day trip to Bruges on the day we arrived in Amsterdam. Flower Tours of Holland, and Peter specifically, were exceptional to work with. They arranged for a private bus and guide to take us direct from our hotel to the amazing city of Bruges. The guide that Peter selected for our full day in Bruges was Robert S. I am not able to put into words the phenomenal experience that Robert provided for our group. His knowledge of history, and the arts, made the city of Bruges come alive. It had been a while since Robert guided a trip to Bruges, so he studied for several days prior to our arrival for a refresher on the history of the city. As an artist and educator, Robert brought the rich history of Bruges to life for all of the different ages in our group. I would strongly recommend booking tours with Flower Tours of Holland and would strongly recommend Robert S. as your guide.

I had seen pictures and heard wonderful comments about Peter but nothing prepares you for the truly memorable day exploring the outer areas of Amsterdam. Although the auction house is closed on Saturdays Peter took us in to see just a small part of this gem. His knowledge and love of flowers amazed us. It was a treat to visit a farm where both Edam cheese is made as well as clogs. The owner, who is a showman all his own, demonstrated how they are made. We ventured through the countryside to Volendam. His knowledge and love of Amsterdam was a delight. Please don't miss this opportunity.

Had a great time seeing the sights around the Amsterdam area. Peter knows all there is to know about flowers and was happy to share. Friendly, punctual, polite. I would reccomend this tour for anybody!

I cannot say enough great things about Peter, the tour and his passion for his profession. He took our group to very special sites and places. He is very knowledgeable about the flower business of the Netherlands, "sites that should not be missed", all with consideration of his clients needs, wants and desires. He went above and beyond any of my expectations ensuring that we got to see everything that was on my "must see list" and more. I do not have the vocabulary to express my gratitude for him and what he arranged and coordinated!

We are a family of 4 with elementary aged children and wanted an out of the city break. This was perfect - Peter arranged for our guide, Jos, to pick us up in a nice van and took us to the flower market, where Jos helped us avoid the crowds and get a good sense of how the enormous operation worked. We then had a lovely drive among the flower fields and Dutch countryside. Keukenhoff was next and was a bit of a zoo so we did not stay long. It is not really geared toward kids. The highlight was probably the small local farm Jos took us to where we got to see the cheese making process from milking machine to cheese cellar. Very authentic and not a usual tourist stop. Peter and Jos were very professional, flexible, and helped us put together a day that fit our interests.

Our guide, Peter, picked us up at 7 am for our day long tour. Beginning at the Flower auction in Aalsmeer, he provided a true behind the scenes view of how flowers and plants are bought, sold and distributed. Because of his experience and expertise in the field, you get to enter the room where the auction takes place, walk on the floor where the thousands of carts of flowers are and follow every step of the process though what is one of the largest buildings on earth. This is a not to miss tour.
From there you visit a working farm to observe cheese and wooden shoe making! My teenager was selected to help carve a shoe. After driving through the beautiful countryside, Peter takes you to visit several windmills. Ask for the one which is a saw mill. It is restored to original 1600s methods of sawing lumber and still operates as a functioning mill.
Our guide was very courteous and helpful throughout the day and sensitive to keeping the teenagers interest! This was a true highlight of our trip to Amsterdam!

We read about the amazing Flora Holland flower auction and wanted to get a real close-up view -- not just from a distance. Our travel agent quoted an astronomical price for a private tour, so I looked on my own and found Peter Boers of Flower Tours Holland. I cannot recommend him enough. This was a VERY behind-the-scenes and personal tour of a huge, complicated, and fascinating place. Visit the website and write to Peter and he will answer any questions you have and customize a day around exactly what you are interested in seeing.
For us, that meant focusing on Flora Holland itself. We took Peter's advice and booked this on a date when there was sure to be lots of activity. If you ever wanted to know where "Dutch Auctions" originated and how they work, this is the place! Peter took us right into the huge auction rooms where we sat among the bidders. I could have stayed all day, but there was more to see, including the bustling warehouses with racks upon racks of flowers coming in from all over the world, cycling through the auction rooms and getting moved about for distribution to flower buyers and distributors. This is the second largest building in the world (the largest is used to build Boeing 787s), and you feel it. The sheer size and constant motion is like something from a Pixar movie.
There are observation decks above it all, but Peter took us right down onto the floor for a tour between the constantly-moving racks of flowers. We saw everything, and were able to explore and learn about how flowers are moved around the world, while also getting a plethora of practical gardening (and flower buying) tips from Peter.
Peter also took us to a wholesalers area where small lots and supplies can be purchased. Unfortunately, it was our last day in Holland so we could not take advantage.
You don't have to be a gardener or a business person to appreciate this visit, but if there's anybody in your party who loves gardening, or who is interested in business, then this tour will be particularly fun and valuable.
This was one of the highlights of our visit to The Netherlands and we have recommended Peter both to our travel agent and to several friends.

Peter took my wife and me on an incredible tour through Holland's breathtaking flower fields, the flower auction and the Keukenhof Gardens. His intimate knowledge of flowers and the floral business combined with his professionalism and warm personality made this the perfect tour. We started with a behind-the-scenes tour of the auction in which Peter helped us to understand each aspect of the process from start to finish. Next, he took us to the flower fields so that we could capture stunning photos with the vibrant colors. He knows just where to go to find the best vantage points. We also made an impromptu stop at a tulip bulb farm so we could hear from a farmer directly. After a delightful lunch at a restaurant popular with the locals, we toured the Keukenhof. Peter provided thoughtful narration throughout the visit. In addition, he was quick to adjust the tour based on our interests and preferences and accommodated our tour with short notice. My wife and I feel fortunate to have had such an experienced guide. Without question, this tour was the highlight of our Holland experience, and we can't recommend Peter highly enough!

We booked Peter some months before our trip to Amsterdam and he was at pains to find exactly the right schedule for us, using his many contacts. Diane and I could not have wished for a better nor more helpful guide. Peter is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We went with him first to the Flower Auction at Aalsmeer. Peter's experience and inside knowledge definitely enhanced our visit there and we learned so much. Two days later, Peter took Diane to Keukenhof and the bulb fields. Sadly, I was unable to go, at the last minute, but Peter kept me updated throughout the day, texting photographs. He looked after Diane very well and she returned brimming with new found knowledge of horticulture and Dutch history. Peter knows the sites so well and exactly where to take each guest so that he or she derives maximum enjoyment. He is very entertaining and extremely kind and thoughtful. He has even sent photographs, subsequent to out trip, of the flowers at Keukenhof as the season has progressed and found details of floral workshops for me. We highly recommend his services.

Peter took my wife, six-year-old daughter, and me on a tour of Keukenhof and the surrounding area -- it was as beautiful as we could have hoped for, and Peter's thorough knowledge of the area and the flora made it special. We had taken a bus tour to Keukenhof a few years earlier, which was nice, but outside of Keukenhof we could only view the tulip fields as we drove by in the bus. On the other hand, Peter was flexible enough with our schedule that we were able to drive to a flower field and take pictures among the rows of tulips (not as quick & easy as it sounds since the blooms shift from one field to the next frequently). He even found us a hat shop in Gouda where we could buy a dutch hat for our little girl for the pictures. This is definitely the right way to tour Holland's flower fields.

Going on a flower tour with Peter was the perfect way to experience flowers in Holland. He took my Mother & me on a superb tour of the Flower Auction - there was so much going on at one time, it took an expert to explain it and Peter is an expert. Then we visited places where they sell flowers and plants wholesale. We drove past lovely fields of tulips. The finale of the day was a leisurely visit to the spectacular Keukenhof Gardens - truly magnificent. To really appreciate and understand the flowers, you must be with Peter.

My wife, Kim, and I really enjoyed your guided tour yesterday. Since living in Nijmegan 40 years ago in the summer, it has always been one of my dreams to return during spring and see the flower fields. You were a highly knowledgeable guide for us, full of interesting information and delivered very graciously. And what a wonderful day of weather you ordered for us! Dank u wel!
Really enjoyed your guided tour, Cary

Peter gave us an incredible tour; an experience we could not have had on our own. We were able to walk among the flowers, observe the auction room and see the entire process. Without Peter, we would have been limited to a catwalk high above the action.
He is so very knowledgeable, personable and I cannot recommend him more highly. He went above and beyond to care for us and our interests.
