Tulip grower
On this private guided Tour, we will start at your hotel in Amsterdam and drive south of Amsterdam to a Tulip cut flower grower. They grow the Tulips from bulbs in greenhouses from January until December.
Their peak production is between January and February.
We will get a guided tour through this fascinating nursery by a management team member. He will explain all the secrets of producing Tulip flowers in greenhouses, selling the flowers at the flower auction or to supermarkets, and eventually, how they will end up at your florist or supermarket.
Flowering bulb fields
After this visit, we will drive to the region of the flowering bulb fields, where we can stop and take pictures of you and your friends in between Crocus, Daffodils, Hyacinths, Tulips, etc.
After the bulb fields tour, we can stop for lunch (not included) or continue driving to Keukenhof.
Keukenhof
When we arrive at Keukenhof, we will start our guided walking tour for a minimum of 3 hours. The park measures 80 acres and has 9.4 miles of pathways, so lots of exercise is involved! Please wear comfortable shoes!
The park is a showcase for the bulb industry in Holland.
Almost 100 bulb companies participate in Keukenhof and supply nearly 7 million bulbs annually, which will flower next Spring.
Keukenhof was founded in 1949 to promote the sales of bulbs after the war.
At the end of the afternoon, we will return to your hotel.
