Bulb farm visit
Our guide will meet you at your hotel in Amsterdam.
We will drive to the region south of Amsterdam, where the bulb industry originally started.
We will visit a Tulip/bulb farm with a nice show green house. We will do a guided tour out in the fields and discover the backgrounds of growing bulbs.
We will also be able to stroll through a collection of hundreds of bulb varieties planted on this farm.
If you want, you can order bulbs of the varieties that are flowering outside for delivery in the fall, so very fresh new bulbs!
Bulb fields bike ride
After the bulb farm, we will drive to Keukenhof to pick up our bikes and start a bike ride between the flowering bulb fields. It depends on the time of the month which bulbs will be flowering most. Very early in March, Crocus and Daffodils will flower, after that mid/late Daffodils and Hyacinths will start to flower and eventually Tulips will start to flower, so hard to say which flowers will be flowering while we do our bike ride through the fields. Let nature surprise us!
During the bike ride, we might stop for lunch, if possible between the flowering fields.
Keukenhof
After the bike ride we will return the bikes to the rental bike company and start our walking tour through Keukenhof.
At Keukenhof, we will start our guided walking tour along the 15 km's of pathways.
Every year, almost 7 million bulbs are planted at Keukenhof, supplied by 100 bulb wholesale companies.
In 4 pavilions, there are several shows with flowers like Roses, Alstroemerias, Carnations, Gerberas, Freesias , bulb flowers, Orchids, Hydrangeas etc.
