Visit flowering Tulip fields in Noordoostpolder
On this tour we will start at your hotel in Amsterdam for a private, guided tour to the Tulip festival, Tulip fields and Tulip Route in Noordoostpolder and visit the village of Giethoorn.
We will drive for 1 hour to the eastern part of Holland, to Noordoostpolder, which was reclaimed from the sea in 1942.
Tulip route, Tulip experience
In this polder, we will drive along the 'Tulip Route', which means that the Tulip fields are planted along this route and is usually between 80 and 100 kilometers long.
This route changes every year, because Tulips can only be replanted after 5 - 6 years in the same field. We will stop several times to take pictures of you and your family or friends between the fields of flowers. We will also visit the 'Tulip Experience' and the Tulip info center.
The flowering of the Tulip fields is of course depending on the weather conditions.
In general, first Tulips will start to flower around half of April. In Noordoostpolder, most of the bulb fields are Tulips. Daffodils and Hyacinths are usually not planted in this polder.
After the Tulip fields, we will continue to drive to Giethoorn.
Giethoorn
When we arrive in Giethoorn, we will start a guided general canal cruise of 1 hour on the narrow canals in the village and on the lake behind the village.
After the cruise, we will stop for lunch in the village along one of the canals. There are several cosy restaurants of which we can choose from.
Walk along canals
After lunch, we will start a walking tour through the village on the pathways along the canals.
We can visit galleries, boutique shops, etc.
We will walk safely, because unlike Amsterdam, there are no bikes and cars allowed here.
Around 4.00 p.m., we will start driving back to Amsterdam, where we will arrive around 5.30 p.m.
