Flower auction
This private, guided tour will start at your hotel in Amsterdam at 8.00 a.m. We will drive by car to Aalsmeer, where we will pay a visit to the flower auction ‘Royal Flora Holland,’ the most extensive trade building in the world.
We will explain the selling system, the so-called ‘Dutch Auction,’ and we will see the distribution of flowers and plants.
Wholesale center for florists
We will also visit a wholesale center, where florists from Holland and other European countries buy flowers, plants, and supplies.
Orchid grower
After the flower auction visit, we will drive to an Orchid nursery where the exclusive and most popular potted houseplant nowadays, the Phalaenopsis Orchid, is being grown. After an introduction, we will get a company tour through the high-tech and computerized greenhouses.
These Phalaenopsis nurseries are amongst the most advanced in horticulture, with sodium and LED lights to promote plant quality, growth, and flowering.
